The Southside Mavericks are in an offensive funk.

Central’s Joey McCracken limited the Mavericks to three hits Friday — two Colton McBride singles and Hayden Blythe’s one-out double in the fifth — while dropping the Mavericks to 2-5 in 6A-Central play.

Southide (7-11) ran into some bad luck in the fifth. After Blythe’s one-out double, Eli Reichert reached on an error.

But McCracken caught a break when Breck Burris lined into an inning-ending double play.

Southside faces Northside on Tuesday to complete the first half of conference play.
